On 7th February 2015, my husband and I decided to hike up to the top of Mount Majura, located in Canberra Australia.
The track started out fairly flat but there were steeper sections. It was mostly dirt and a few rocky sections. Some stairs had been cut into the path as well. There were other hikers and some mountain bike riders out in the sunshine as well. It is approximately a 5.4km round trip from the gate to the summit. It took us about 1.5 hours to walk up, as we stopped along the way and the last kilometre was tougher going and very steep! It only took about 40 minutes to get back down though. We saw some lizards along the way:
It was a warm day, but not scorching like some Australian summer days. Here are the rest of the photos! Enjoy!
We are looking forward to doing more hiking this year and as the weather cools, it seems easier to motivate ourselves to go.
