September 2015 WIP Update: Storytime Sampler, Parliament of Owls & Pikachu

September has come to a close and we’re rapidly moving towards the end of 2015. Here is my September update for you all. See last months update here.

Storytime Sampler

Just to remind you all, it is stitched on 32 count Lugana in Dark Fantasy by Colour Cascade Fabrics. This month I started with the Lady of Shallot Frame and then moved on and completed the Phantom of the Opera and Black Beauty Frames. I am now completely caught up!!

I am having such fun with this project 🙂

Parliament of Owls

I picked this piece up for maybe 2 days this month, so not a lot of progress.

I also picked this one up for a couple of days, but unfortunately I was struck down with flu so I didn’t stitch much towards the end of this month.

Plans for October

For October, my first challenge will be to get working on the next frame for Storytime, Anne of Green Gables. Then I plan to work on ‘A Good Marriage’ by Lizzie Kate to see if I can get that finished by the end of the month. I also plan to spend 1 hour of the weekends (either Saturday or Sunday) on a Heaven and Earth Designs. I still need to update my finishes list and finalise my plan for the rest of the year.

Happy October stitching everyone!

  1. Gack! Your stitching is so PERFECT! I spent a whole minute (I shall not confess to any more than that) just ogling the sheer precision of the stitches in the first picture 😀 Beautiful work!

The Storytime Sampler is coming along beautifully. And the Parliament always brings a smile to my face 🙂

    • I try to be organised. I do keep a list of my finishes, along with a picture in an album on my facebook. Some of my projects are gifts, so I like to be able to look back at them. I like having a plan….even if I don’t stick to it all the time!

  2. I’ve got a question! I’ve only stitched on 25-count fabric and I do want to bump up to larger scale. Do you have advice for working on larger scaled fabrics, since you’ve worked on this 32-count. Should I be intimidated?

    • As long as your eyesight is good, I didn’t really have much difficulty switching to the 32 count from the 25/28 count ones. I did however switch to a size 28 Bohin needle instead of the 26’s. My advice is to give it a go! I love working on 32 count and I may even have a go at 40 count one day.

      • Thanks for the advice. I tried looking at the 28 count and thought it’d be a breeze to stitch, but a little hesitant. I’ll give it a go and possibly got to a different needle size. Thanks!
